Well im normally staying away from the Purple Brigade,but for unforeseeable circumstances had a run in with the more Militant Wing "The Purple Sabbotage Crew".I had to go into Town earlier and bumped into a couple ,not a nice experience(for them )As i was at the checkout of well known freezer outlet,one of the Militants (who I know)asked if I was still on my Methadone,he might as well as just put it over the tannoy,thankfully not many people to bore with my Autobiography in the shop at the time ,as if i give a fuck who knows ,just rather not have it said at the checkout,talk like that is for outside the shop or over a joint,well i wouldnt smoke with them anyway as they are fucking dumb,pure amoeba,pond life,like that bit of shit you want to wipe off your foot,but its stuck on fast ,if these 2 were a disease they would be "The Black Death"(those bloody rats).Held my breath until we were out the shop and they wanted a chat.Firstly they asked how id been and if I was still on a script,I said yeah and they said bloody hell mate you been on that a while,yeah i said 8yrs this year ,No break just getting maintained on Methadone and getting myself healthy as much as my body allows it,still going to CPN/Keyworker and its really working now they have decided to do something in my appointments.That was it one of them went straight into one.Cor your taking the piss ,i was only there for a few months got my self sorted and now i dont even smoke,Well done i said to him ,you mocking me he said.Fucking hell this was getting heated,I only felt ok as i knew they were plums and not much to worry about.Anyhow they both said that subbies were the best and people on Methadone were only asking for it because its an opiate and you get a buzz off it , abstinence is the way forward and they come up to me and said "I AINT USED FOR A MONTH NOW".This was getting to me now "im not having this ,basically slagging off Methadone and people who are on it (only for the buzz, i ask you),I had just bought 2 small bottle's of Gallo wine (well 2 for £3),as we walked under the bridge i smashed the bottle over his head and the other matey just stood there saying that was out of order,out of order i said hes been doing my head in for half hour,talking like he's a member of the Purple Brigade, Abstinence,what you going on about he said,have you been listening i said to him,NO he said ,not when he is like that ,like what ?i said, PISSED .With that i would of hit him with the other bottle or the 2 pizza's but the misses would of gone mental.Im still blaming them as i had to walk back up the shop for another wine AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!,these people piss me off,oh as for the anger management its working LOL.Been dying to smack him one,now i have im should of done it ages ago ,just had a good reason this time lol,All the best Froude

Not used for a month is hardly a successful recovery, I've lasted longer after doing a home-detox of gear. Obviously they are ill-informed plums like you say, methadone is an opioid not an opiate & he's just switched one dependancy for another. Alcohol by the sounds of it, seems like a lot of people once " recovered " just switch to the legal alternative to alter their state of mind. Sounds like you altered it a bit more , bit of a waste of a bottle though ! Sound like a right pair of twats. The purples will soon turn into the type of religous people who come knocking on your door, asking you to read their books on what is righteous in their eyes.
I surmise he was getting at agonist vs. antagonist but did not have the pharmacological savvy to explain. As both are synthetic OPIOIDS so buprenorphine is not different. In some medical usage though there is a convention to use "opiate" to refer to any drug, natural or synthetic, based on opium and reserve "opioid" for the receptors in the brain and gut.

Went to town yesterday and the local branch of the Purple Brigade was out and about slagging off Methadone but drinking that chemically made cider,quite frightening,no White lightening lol.Fucking ponce's and hypocrites ,didnt even talk or eye contact ,music in my ears so i couldnt hear their bloody droning on about how Meth has made them drink,yeah i know beats me too .Cant keep smacking them though,its getting boring.Oh i got to tell this .Saw my mate yesterday and when he was on the gear and couldnt get any i used to help him out (phone number for methadone)he would go and buy 60mil and then moan that it wasnt up to scratch"is he watering it down"he used to say it wasnt ,anyway he said the Meth was shit ,chatting to him yesterday and said he was now on a 50 mil script for Methadone ,I reminded him he said Meth was shit (both laughing)"well he said its doing the job now and im happiest ive been for years and was looking good put some weight on .well thats one coverted all on his own lol ,All the best Froude
