Hi it hardly seems a year ago when i was talking about starting this course and feeling so apprihensive(spelling hasent got much better), its be a hard slog, a lot of late night studying recently but i just want people to know that i have completed the course and managed to pass all on a maintanence script, and knowone ever did find out. The course has down alot for my coinfidence especially where men and the world around me are concerend, for those who werent here a year ago it was a Diploma in Womans studies. I went on Glasgows slutwalk(a protest march) i dont know if anyone knows about it but its not really what the title suggests its just about, its about women being able to wear what they want, act how they want and this alone is not an invitation to rape or negitive attention, sorry getting on my soap box again but as i said it has been a course that has opened my eyes. I had a wobble at Christmas with all the bad weather didnt think i could go back but one of the thinks that did spur me on was the thought of people reading this blog and just saying there's another addicts that started something and didnt finnish it cost the government more money, blah, blah, i wanted to prove something to myself and people around me and in august i will collect my Diploma at a graduation service, im so chuffed it was mt last officatial day of college today and i have made some really nice people that i hope i can keep in touch with. If i had advice for anyone that is stable and thinking about it, go for it for the people that may not be at that time of there recovery then i would say make it a goal, you will be surprised all the extra things you get out of it that you never expected, thanks for everyone that encouraged me at the start, never forgotten,

Congratulations and very well done WY! I never for one moment doubted you'd complete the course and pass but I know how hard we are on ourselves at times.
A huge pat on the back from me and a big hug as well.
thank you so much for your nice comments at times i have felt guilty about not keeping up with stuff on here but there was so much take home and do stuff i have had really no social life for the last year, the sad thing is that they have cut all the part time courses and finding the next building block is proving to be difficult im looking into night courses. Even the college said that all they want in the college is school leavers, there not really interested in adult returners anymore, but im still pround of myself another string to my bow as they say ill find a way. Either that or im thinking of open uni, ill need to look into it, if anyone has any expierience with open uni then id be interested in how it works, anyway thanks for the nice posts flip and Jules, take care

Absolutely. Congratulations WY, I know how unsure you were at the start of the course but by completing it with nobody even knowing that you were on a maintenance script is a huge achievement & I hope it has given you a massive boost of confidence. All the best for the future. OP8S
