Hello all,
Just popped in and noticed a posting, it has been quiet!! Trouble is everytime I post an update saying things are quite good, something always happens just after that!!
Actually things are pretty good and fingers crossed, continues to improve. After my daughters last scare she is stable on 60ml, put on 2 stone in weight, sleeping at night and got a part time job.
She saw her GP and had blood test to check her out (6 months ago she would not even consider doing this). She is having a ultra sound next week to see why she has not had periods for nearly 4 years. I am proud of her determination to get better but am also very worried.
She had a letter from the GP asking her to come in and discuss her blood test results, she is now terrified that she has something awful. Had full blood screening, liver function, hiv, hep b,c etc.
Having the test was painful because of her veins.
I am trying to keep her positive until we get an appointment but it is difficult.
Apart from this life is pretty much ok, just hope she is ok.
Hope everyone is ok

Daybreak Drug project
Dagenham Road
essex
Near Eastbrook school
the family worker is Jo Moloney
She offers one to one counselling for families in Barking a Dagenham. She has been my counsellor and I would highly recommed her she has alot of experience with working in this field.
partners support group Wednesday evenings 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Parents/ family support group Thursday evenings 7pm - 8.30pm
Tel : 0208 595 2010
I attend the partners group, or numbers have been low lately and it would be geat to have some new faces and all you carers would be more than welcome, just give Jo a ring and say Jean recommended her.
I think this sight is excellent :-)

Hi ya Maggie
I am having Advocacy training at the mo with the Alliance and it is Maddy that is training me.
I am enjoying it but feel anxious about working with Drug users, I do feel this is what I need to do and it will be a great learning experience for me. I think it is me stepping out of my comfort zone.

They grow with the number of posts you make - I'm not sure what all of them are worth exactly - which means you can tell at a glance who's been round a long time. As a general rule of thumb, you can usually trust the response of long-term prolific posters. Staff automatically have five stars.
Stick around and watch them grow!

Five stars seem to be the maximum one receives. Once you post you automatically get one star and with each 50 posts you get another:
01-50 posts = 1 star,
51-100 posts = 2 stars and so on until you get to 5 stars. I've noticed recently that the posts don't seem to be accumulating but this is actually of no great importance unless you're a bit number obsessed like me

Hi Jeanie,
How is the training going? I know what you mean about stepping outside your comfort zone!! Well done on pursuing what you feel is right to do, I want to go along the same path but not just yet. Please keep me informed.
I have just finished 6 weeks councelling and I was surprised at how it made think after each session and how easy it is to get trapped within your own negativity. I have learnt to detatch and make some sort of sense of my situation. I was always very sceptical of councelling thinking it can do more harm than good but I am pleased to say I came out the other end unscathed!!!
Good luck
Maggie
