Is it just me or does methadone make you sweat?

Whether it is the middle of summer or the middle of winter i find that as soon as i start walking (even just a few yards), I break out in a heavy sweat. I find it really uncomfortable, especially when it is cold, as I have a layer of cold sweat on my back. If anyone knows of a way to stop or reduce it, I would be grateful for advice.

Thanks Tomo..

methadone does cause sweating in anything up to 60% of people apparently.  Theres not a great deal you can do about it, although some people have calimed anti-histamines are good.

It's to do with Histamine release and as Jim says some people have found anti-histamines useful but as many have found them not to be useful.

I find that when I have been out for a few hours, I stop sweating.  I think we sweat due the change in temp.  Sudden changes like shock can send us into withdrawl.  When I go outside I sweat to start, then I am o.k.  If I get upset I sweat, hense my theory that it is sudden change that kicks in our adrenaline.  As we are used to being on this one level of feeling while on opiates, our bodies dont cope with normal temp. changes & upset.  Who knows?  Maybe we are so chilled out that our brain is telling our bodie that going out & moving around is to much stress for us!  I would like to know why upset & going out makes us sweat.  I have an interview in a couple of days & will most definatly have to wear a t-shirt under my suit jacket.
