I have heard from one of our community pharmacists that they have been having problems getting supplies of Methadone. I'm not sure how big this problem is but just to make people aware. The pharmacist did get some but not from any of the usual suppliers.

Further investigation problem is with martindale and the sugar free should be back to normal supply this week and sugared variety next  week. Pharmacy got supply of rosemont methadone. I hope nobody has problems over the bank holiday.

Bit of a flap in Leeds today, no sugar free methadone available Leedswide. Just before the bank holiday as well. Pharmacists are unable to dispense sugared methadone instead because its a controlled drug, so all prescriptions will have to be changed if you're on sugar-free. This could run into the thousands! We're trying our best to work round it.

Read somewhere that Wales was having this problem. So I have e-mailed the people in the know and will get back. David

I am finding this thread and subsequent developments interesting. So off i went to my community pharmacist and he informs me that his problem is with Physeptone.
So it could be a case of you try my brand and i'll try yours.
His point was, i think, that it could prove a little difficult for awhile to deliver continuity only in the sense of the 'Brand' of Methadone you are usually on.
This can cause a perception of discomfort and a feeling of 'being out of sync' or like there has been a drop in quality of treatment. In some cases, due to additives, we found with transition to Physeptone in our area there were withdrawals but as i said this was put down to additves in the Methadone that are not present in Phyeptone.

I was led to believe that after the pharmacsit phoned martindale that the problem was to be sorted the following week, so i'm surprised this is still an issue.

My chemist also told me last week that he was having problems with getting Methadone supplies but went in today to collect my weekly script and all seems to be fine now.  Hopefully, there shouldn't be any problems - they should know how important it is to keep stocked up.

I too am going in tomorrow and will check with pharmacist.
Being weekly of course things could have changed but i have a sneaky feeling anyway lets just hope. I also have spoken to Martindale/Cardinal etc and am getting the same i.e. 'no problem'.
I will be interested to see how this plays out tomorrow.
