Moving to ESA- a users guide

I have decided to start a new thread, as to update users about the migration to ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) as it happens and to help any other person going through Welfare reform....I took the beginnings from NHS shared computer systems, but think it needs a thread of it's own
That brown envelope was WHITE and arrived the next day
I got another phone call asking the same shite
Anyway...I have 4 weeks to fill it in.....I am really tempted to pay the £19.99 subscription fee to benefits and work- who apparently give you step by step guiding to filling the form in.....they do give you snippets for free-but then on the other hand THEY shouldn't be making money from poor people in the first place
This is hard work.....it's like when you have to write an essay and you just can write your name.....aarrrrgghhhh
I have found the guides on tinternet....for free
Although each one is 65 pages, it is worth it.......so if any one needs them let me know
This does not for one minute make me think I will pass, however God loves a trier and I love the freedom of information act!
£19.99........ paaah

OMG....ATOS use LiMA software.....so basically the software compiles a medical report from whatever the healthcare professional types in.....that is why it tells you to send supporting evidence to the office that deals with your claim, not with the claim itself....there are exceptions....being deemed terminally ill, pregnant and having under 5's and carrying infectious diseases.
70% will move to JSA

They are the two 65 page guides with step by step prompts, which are now free for you all and it is a lot to read, but actually quite helpful....there is another one but cannot find on history

Anon33 are you saying 70% of people on some kind of government welfare what ever it be income support, incapcity benefit,JSA, will go on to Job Seekers Allowance (JSA),that means you have to seek work,or have i got what you wrote wrong. All the best Froude.
Thanks for the Email, the Newsletter was really good.Cheers Froude

That is the plan....reduce the deficit!
Basically if you are on income support/incapacity benefit/severe disablement allowance- you have to migrate to ESA before 2014.....if you get sent a pink form Limited Capacity for Work (ESA50), you are already being considered for two groups, depending how you fill it out:
Support Group- which you get enhanced benefit and don't have to do anything you don't want
Work Related Activity Group- you have to attend the job centre for at least 6 'work focused interviews'
If you don't pass the questionnaire, you go for a medical, if you don't pass the medical, APPEAL,APPEAL, then you are asked to claim JSA instead
The difference with the form to previous ones, is that it doesn't make much sense and you could easily score very low, substance misuse on it's own is not enough, you need to be fooked with something else like depression/schizopdhrenia/bi-polar or have other physical uncapabilities
There are exceptions being pregnant, having children under 5(women), having a notifiable disease or being of pension age should automatically put you in support group.
Also if you are claiming severe anxiety/depression TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU to medical, because the 'health professional will score nil points if you turn up on your own all spritely with your best aftershave on-because the medical journal the 'hp' refers to says that it is not possible to go out on your own- coupled with the questions they will ask- the LiMA software makes its own sentences.
You need to prove if you are found fit for work, it will be a risk to your health.
This is the most unfair system I have seen quite frankly and lest not forget the decision makers are not the best fans of people who use/d drugs.
I swear my anxiety levels are on ultra panic mode when I see pink
Glad you liked the Newsletter

I was moved to ESA last April, previously I was on IB, well income support with incapacity component added. When I went for the ESA interview at the benefits agency I told them I was on methadone and attending a community rehab centre, I also suffer from depression, anxiety and paranoia problems for which I also take medications.
I dont remember then telling me that I was going to be put on any particular type of ESA, but I havent been asked to do voluntary work for my benefit or anything, and I seem to get a higher rate than some other people I know who are on ESA. I think before deductions for my rent arrears /social fund payments I get around £200 per fortnight, I'm reluctant to start asking the DWP questions about my benefits as I get paranoid that they will change something.
Anyway I've just written a thread about claiming DLA which I am considering before they overhaul that which is something thats currently happening. I hope I can get onto it before they snatch it away. Thanks for the links to those documents Anon33, do you know if there are any guides to claiming DLA? I checked out that Benefits & Work website, but I cant afford to pay their fees when you can usually find out the same information for nothing.

So....ATOS sent a reminder that my questionnaire was due back (in 10 days) and so it was sent......it was a long thing filling in that form and personally I nearly had a breakdown filling it out....the guides came in handy though.....we shall wait to hear when the medical is and I will let you know the outcome.....I know someone who has just had a medical and scored nil points, nil points, nil points and has to put a claim in for JSA tomorrow....apparently 'he did not appear drunk' was on the report, I have yet to see it.....also if you have a pet you can go back to work, because if you can look after an animal you can stack shelves-or work at pets at home.....if anyone is filling in the form, please use the guides on this thread and if you do not agree APPEAL-I will!!!
The problem is about moving DLA to PIP- the consultation was not followed accordingly, so they are reviewing the bill- another thing-what you put on the form also crosses over with DLA a bit, so think before you write and DO take someone to the medical, because if you go on your own-especially if you are applying on grounds of mental health 'their handbook' says it is not possible to be able to attend places on your own if you have a mental health problem.....

Hi all, I hope everyone is well and good..
Why do they do this!!!.. Is it the bonuses they get?
I had to fill out a esa50 form, then attended the dreaded medical last October, To my amazement I was awarded ESA and put in the support group then November.. I really thought I'd have to go through the same shit that nearly everybody else has too, But I've spoke too soon.
I then got another letter in march saying that I'll be expected to fill out another ESA book/form.
Because of my dyslexia I rung up the same welfare charity that I used for me first form. Theres no CAB in Cardiff nomore due to cuts, and a few other places that help you out with forms aren't allowed to help with these Atos forms.
Anyway When I told the place that help me last time I've got a new form to fill they thought it was some mistake? Esp so soon after the last.
My health hasn't improved in a matter of a few months, Infact if anything things have gone a bit worse.
I sent that form off, Then they've sent another letter, for me to attend a new medical, How can my arthritis, psoriasis, diabetes, mental health issues, IBS, and other issues have cured so soon!!!
Ive been doing my own research about this corrupt company, They where kicked out of the states, Also I don't understand why the BBC etc are not on to them, on how bad this company are..
"down to the roots of the corruption, and we can start with Professor Aylward, who represents UNUM and also reresents ATOS healthcare, UNUM a private American insurance company were kicked out of the California for fabricating medical reports with the intention of denying legitimate claimants their legal rights to health claims,UNUM is now banned from most states.
So denied the chance to exploit people and make a huge profit over there, they brought their slimy practices over here (Overpaid, overcorrupt, and over here) through ATOS healthcare.
Professor Aylward and his sidekick Dame Carol Black, yes the same Carol Black who dreamed up the sick note nonsense, decided to conspire with the previous Government (New Liebore) in denying disabled and sick people their legal right to benefit.
Not by introducing a fair system to weed out the scroungers as they call them, but by introducing the same corrupt American system to deny almost anyone benefit, even a head on a cushion and rolled in on a trolly would find it difficult to pass an ATOS test.
So as i said lets start with the above pair of parasites, then we can move on to the next scrounger James Purnell, another parasite and expenses dodger by the way, then on to the next money making parasite, David Blunkett who just loves making a fortune through action without work (its not what you cant do, but can do) who needs a couple of underpaid flunkeys to get him out his bed and washed in the morning (I wonder why the media dont tell the public about that) and Danny Alexander another do as i say not as i do polotician, who knows all about ATOS corruption, but has been persuaded to say nothing, with promotion and a wage rise as a reward, then WHEN they are all dealt with amongst others.
We can then move on to the corrupt so called HCPs who work for ATOS health-uncare as well as the corrupt Decision Makers who with the permission of the last Government and the present Government have conspired with ATOS, trained with ATOS got their bums patted by ATOS, and lapped up everything ATOS were/are doing
to disabled people.
The decision makers know fine well the majority of the medical reports streaming in every day are fabricated and bogus medical reports.
But not one of them, not even one is prepared to stand up and say NO this is unfair, this is corruption and im not going along with it, im going to do the right thing im going to expose this farce, no they have all decided to take part in the corruption, and so they must all fall, and no exceptions, THE WHOLE LOT.
Then and only then, we can start with a new fair system, where honesty is valued, where medical reports are truthful, where people get a decent wage, where parasitic apostates like John Prescott aren’t made Lords (not for services to the country, but for what he knows about the corruption in the country) where the Tony Blairs of the world cannot be allowed to lie to the people, start wars, then traipse around the world making a fortune."

Just realised "terrifying" and "scary" are more or less the same, apologies. I am really shocked by the questioonaires; it's a no win situation for claiments.
