Last one i had was the same,i couldnt understand a word they were saying to me and he didnt know what diazepam was or couldnt understand me ,so i walked out and told the lady on the front desk, that if they are getting people in that you cant understand with their broken English.Fuck Atos, they sent me another appointment, and i got someone who spoke English, well much better than the last person.I only got through 2 of my meds and he checked my knee and arm and said that was it.Everything went ok,as for Atos seems they get the cheapest of everything,Fuck em there messing with the whole D.W.P,and messing with peoples lives. All the best Froude

OP - they've been around for a while, they do all the fitness for work interviews for the DWP. Absolute arseholes.
Before I went back to work I had been off sick for about 5 months cos my arthritis and epilipesy were going a bit crazy, I had one of those fitness for work interviews and they said there was nothing wrong with me, even put on the form that I had no fits, even though I had hospital docs showing proof of the damn things!
The person who saw me, well, Engilsh was not her first language (Polish, I think) and she couldn't even understand the names of the medications I take when I tried to tell her, total farce.
You should of made up the medications that you were on ! Yes that's 100mg diazepam + 500mg diamorph daily with some extra Diconal for breakthrough pain , thank you very much! These fit to work notes are a bit strange, or maybe it just takes me a while to get used to things. After my fall I went back to work a couple of days after, had been there a few hours & was called to the managers office. She sent me home. Where I have stayed & intend to for as long as possible, be nice if I got xmas off this year. I think I have to visit the GP's surgery again before they will take me back. So instead of your GP signing you off for a week or two, you just seem to make your own mind up then go to see your GP for a Fit to Work slip. Takes me quite a long time to make decisions at the best of times
I suppose if the cash starts to dry up that'll make my mind up for me.

More than likely you have to have it for your employers insurance, I reckon that's why they sent me home. More like the 51st state everyday, I even said that I could go back & do light duties but they said there was none ?! I watch plenty of others doing what I would call light work, the lazy ones that spend more time & effort avoiding a task that could be easier done by just getting on with it. Not a good time not to be earning my full wage with xmas & the kids, the commercial raquet that it is. Maybe I will become more " merry " once in Lapland, meds in one peice & a double shot of whiskey if they've got it ! Thrown into the bargain I should get the annual leave back again as I've been signed off. Maybe I am starting to get a bit merrier now thinking of that, as for testosterone I'm hoping Santa has a sexy green elf just for me
