Yes I've got to admit I've got it pretty-good. I always make my appointment when the prescribing GP is there, the nurses are dead nice also. Occassional mistakes may be made but it's usualy because we're having a laugh. The Nurses hassle him something rotten, he's a good 'un also. A GP that listens to his patients needs & goes by the Guidlines. I made the desicion with him that I wanted to be maintained, he had no problems with that as I've got so called Recovery Capital & so nothing to gain but everything to lose. I also work alongside him in my own job so he can see that being on methadone doesn't stop you from working & has no negative cognitive effects. The job I'm in you couldn't be making mistakes the whole time or you'd soon get yourself fired.
I don't appreciate his comments on being some kind of poster boy for maintenance though  Roll Eyes
He's the only GP that will come to the clinic, I asked him why once. He said about specialist training with a wry smile on his face, I asked if that meant no other GP from the NHS was willing to take part in the meth prescribing because we were just a buch of junkies, he laughed loudly. I had obviously hit the nail on the head. It's pathetic not one british born GP will prescribe at the clinic. Just one who comes from the continent, a much more liberal country & one in which I believe addiction is studied in depth while studying to be a GP.

I'd love to be scriped by my GP instead of the local power hungry doctor at my DSP. I really don't know what they're thinking, as they are certainly not helping anyone, they seem to almost go out of their way to do the opposite of what people need.
