I have always found employment, voluntary or otherwise is great, as it gives you less time to think about using etc.
Other than that, and if you can't work, exercise, gardening, there's a million and one things you can do to fill up your day, but I feel that the best way is to do things that are actually constructive - so you feel you've achieved something - like work, or DIY on your house etc.

Am sorry in the little time I have available between looking after the kids , working & all the other stuff a blokes gotta do. I tend to take drugs. Smoke's mostly with the little adventure into powder / pharmacueticals now & then. My grandfather told me you can never read enough books...unfortunetly you can read while taking drugs! So I do read a lot.

yeah down time for me is not work (its not fun) and between that and college and kids n housey stuff reading is a good one Im reading Loves Executioner, (what a great name for a book!
) and it really good. Surfing sounds great but I have no ocean and board
I hate gardening because worms n dirt are involved. I would LOVE to act...funny i know in my area they have a "speakers group" where you go and read out stuff you've written, sounds like a good confidance building thing. I read about the actor Tom Hardy who apparently was a heroin adict that ended up on the streets and when he stopped he started excersising in an obsessive way became totally ripped and became a famous Actor treading the boards n wot not he said that his excersisng replaced his habit, and weather its smack or excersing or whatever he does he does it full on. Im training to become a psychotherapist at the moment and thats really interesting stuff how people tick facinates me. Oh I have started writing creativley I wrote a sestina that was cool might put some stuff on here and test the water lol

Get a pet.
I saw "pet hens" on offer at £18 each in a pet shop over the weekend. In my experience, chickens are pretty dumb and it shouldn't object if you sprayed it purple. Put it on a lead and walk it around town to cheer up shoppers. You'll be the all out hen man, an entertainer.

Pet's as in ones that lay eggs, or ones that just sit there and look pretty?

Think I'd prefer the more featherd variety sapph. I reckon I could get on with a hen juust as well as some of the other "pets". Nothing naughty though....perish the thought
Your meth takes up roughly 10 seconds of your day, it ain't like weed, or rock when you're consntantly using ( in my experience ) your day should be full enough if you're on a meth script, otherwise it would be a long day. Sounds like you've got plenty on Allout. Just get stuck into a good book, like others do.

You could paint your house purple & generally live life in purple. Talk to everybody about the " R " word & join weirdin. The " R " word is a bit of a dirty word on this site at present weirdin seem to have claimed it for themselves at the moment. The only problem I can think of is that you may get a bit too recovered. Which could in time lead to you wanting never to hear the " R " word again !
