I think it depends how much you bleed during labour...dunno.....it's all a big lottery....me and my fella both caught hep c at same time....I self cleared he had to go through 6 months treatment, although cleared in 13th week......I walked around for a long time thinking fuck it we are all going to die so why not get wasted nobody bothered to find if I actually still had virus for over a year and was so guilty that he went thru pain and I just sat and watched....he handled it quite well, we couldn't tell anyone, his hair was falling out a bit and got rather thin..he told everyone it was because he was takin too much crack...zero support...just me and little blue book...that was over 2 years ago and if you asked him he would say it weren't too bad and urges anyone to go for treatment.
I have turned into a fat c**t....had to reduce Mirtazapine coz everyone thinks I am pregnant, I can't get pregnant so doin my head in....don't know what is worse that constant whens it due.....or depressive state of mind....cannot win

Would it not pass from mother to child via umbilical chord? Or not?
You sound really pissed off Anon33. Before I got the HepC diag I was seeing the OB/GYN at my local hospital and they were really helpful in terms of assited conception. Have you thought of asking your GP to refer you?
