OP - I would think that would help you get through the first 3 or 4 weeks quite well, as the meth takes so long to get out your system it might be a good idea to have a shorter acting opiate on hand.

You've got to ask for it through the GP though, CDT don't really agree with it but he will do it depending on whether he thinks it will help. I've a mate who came off a long time meth script this way, thing is he's away past his three weeks of being prescribed dhc & has nothing to do with the CDT anymore. He's to busy getting off his face on the likes of dhc or other pharmacueticals. Fair play to him, he wanted away from the CDT & the hoops they made him jump through & he's happy taking pharmacueticals instead of crappy gear of the streets. I just hope it stays that way, been there & if your supply of pharmacueticals comes to an abrupt end then the withdrawls will be enough to make him want to score. For a while I was maintained on dhc & even though it's certainly weaker than pharmacuetically produced diamorphine, the fact that it to is pharmacuetically produced legally certainly makes it a strong as a couple of bags a day off the street habit When prescribed in the amounts I was getting anyway.

Awwww Hey everyone Ive had a bit of an event, BASICALLY just as I was gonna come off the meth I had an accident Tongue which ended up with me in  A LOT of pain and a severe injury went to GP he said "mmmmm Im going to put you on a short course of 30/500 co codomol if your on meth tho they prolly wont work but if you coming off they might AND might help with the rattle" I said "ok"  Smiley Smiley and with that jumped off at 5mg and have spent the past the first few days  in a mild withdrawal then a couple  a days where fucking horrible really bad, my CDAT know I rung them and im due to see them on Tue (now Fri) so today not too bad its been 5 days without meth Grin and gonna  start tapering the cocods in about 4 days and hopefully THAT will be easy *hands in praying position* please be easy, please be easy... really fucks with your head all this shit dunnit?

The coco's shouldn't be a problem to come off, if you do have problems then just ask the GP for the 500mg/8mg codiene. You won't even notice going from that to paracetamol.
