The Alliance (Social Networking?) Would it take off? Would the admin or representatives set up a page on Facebook and Twitter to send out News Feeds? It may generate more awareness. But at the same time would it move people away from this great forum? We could I suppose link to the forum in posts. Its not my baby so I can't run with it. Wired-In seem to be having a ball on Facebook. Could The Alliance become a link to social networking sites. Thoughts please? Maybe somebody could reach out to admin and ask them their thoughts? This is just a curious question as I do understand that most MMT and other DAAT service users are without computers or laptops. Although some may have iPhones and Blackberry. Anyhow would it or could it work thoughts?

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, I like the anonimity of the Alliance. I don't really want my DSP to be able to read everything I post here and know for 100% that it is me.
I have been quite detailed on here but unless someone went through my posts with a fine tooth comb, they wouldn't know it was me, and I like that.
I have absolutely no problem with Alliance members knowing who I am, but the DSP, that's another matter.

Actually thinking about what Sapphire said then it is a bit of a no-brainer. Anonymity is the key here. Although it is ashame that we have to hide everywhere from the ghouls and goblins that are out to destroy our kinds. There is a stigma and obedience tied in with knowing that we can maintain the juice. Why can't we just make our confessions and be forgiven for our past sins like in religion.??!

I have a few Alliance friends on Facebook but I to do not want to be 'outed'. Saying that I never shy away from advocate/etc work with DAT's, etc but that is a role I am proud of, I am not ashamed of being a Methadone addict but my family are far better not knowing.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but do you have any idea how easy it is to hack Facebook and log in as anyone's address. Even my Android phone has a program(NIC) that will enter the site as anyone!
I'm working on a part-time computer co.(peripherals, custom fast machines, repairs at PCB level to laptops, PC's, 360, PS3, etc. My speciality will be(hopefully) working for a server giant- Linux of course! Gave away my Windows 7-64, Vista-64, XP Pro.... could not find 98, 95, 3.01. I just run Linux on my machines(including R200 Dell server), powerful gaming machine, 2 Dell terminals, a nice laptop and 2 machines with dead mobo's(. I have always loved only 4 things, my partner, my PC's, my 42" Plasma TV. I am no longer a RN btw, I had to get out otherwise I would have been kicked out, I was told that I could get my PIN number/registration back 7 years after drug abstinence
I run a web serve(apache)r,/fax server/ ftp server
Anyway Facebook security is from the toilet, my dad won't even go there. He is the CEO of a pretty large secuirty organisation, he does many interviews, here's one with pictures, there is pages of him at google, Anyway, I tell you that to show he is no amateur, Facebook is the one site he will not visit so watch out! I use a PC outside the network... I was hacked last week by a friend for laughs, not to sound cruel but if he can do it any kid can! Anyway not been here a couple of years, how you doing Simon?
