As long as they're happy. I'm happy for them. Let them dance around the maypole till the cows come home. I don't mind.
But I can't stomach the manner in which they feel obliged to stomp on even the mildest deviation from the party line. Theirs are the tactics of witchfinder generals and ought to be exposed as such. Their hysterical reaction to the impeccably reasonable reports of Professor Strang is nothing short of a disgrace.

Dereck a great video from Professor Strang critiquing methadone provision from last year. Enjoy

That's my attitude too really, if they are happy, that's great, I'm happy for them. What I am not happy for is them to impose their will onto every other poor unfortunate who crosses their path.
According to Addiction Today you'd think John Strang personally killed Amy Wino.

I tried to post but alas, couldn't find my post anywhere. At least here you get some kind of response & not just brushed off like a ignorant flea. The Alliance gets busier by the day though, which although is a good thing, it means a lot more people out there are not recieving the treatment that they require or are least worried about DSP policies & the new Recovery Agenda from our piss -poor coalition Gov. There is strength in numbers though, we have that & the Alliance staff to air our views, most of them not very positive. But that itself must say something about drug treatment today.
As for the merry-dancers I'm very happy for them, I'm sure that they want to live a substance free life. Don't knock me for not wanting to though ! The very thought of it sends shivers down my spine.

Par for the course. Can you imagine the outrage if abstainers who come on here to tell us how they got or are getting 'clean' found their posts removed?
Why are AT and other Purple Gang outlets so reluctant to allow their readers access to contrary opinions? It's as if they think they're 'at war' and anyone who disagrees with them is 'the enemy'. Very strange.
I hope other forumites with a few minutes to spare will try to make a post on AT's online site. A free valium for anyone who beats the blockade.
That's a joke. Better emphasise that or we'll be reading lurid 'Junkies offered dope to attack us - Hayes involvement suspected' headlines in next month's issue.

I posted something there, although civilised and reasoned(and true) my post..... I doubt it will pass the censor.
I actually find them quite funny, they actually believe the BS they publish, I am sure of that as I have had the pleasure of meeting like minded people.
I can't believe they attack Dr. Strang, I have always thought of him(ever since the Dr. Brewer episode) as leaning towards their school of thought without the BS although this is probably not a fair judgement having never spoken to him.

I find it best to sedate myself before looking at any of " the purples" & their sites. I've only got one laptop & quite often am tempted to eject it through the window when condesended to by abstainee's.
