Situation Vacant!

https://jobs.addaction.org.uk/236-project-worker-staffordshire-ref-1323/JobDetails.aspx
I don't know if they employ people on scripts or not? On the website it does say something about CRB checks etc but that things will be done on an individual basis.
Surely though, if I apply for a job in my chosen field of expertise (ie not substance misuse), I would not tell them I'm on a script so should it matter?

But how's your "commitment to Addaction's mission"?
Just the faintest suspicion you'd fit in, Sapph, like a duck in a desert. Even if you nailed your mouth shut you'd probably run out of there screaming before your first lunchtime.

It may be of interest to look at other providers and what essential qualifications key-workers should have and if what is stated i.e. work to NICE guidelines is actually what is happenng on the ground.

as an employer I always look at the best person for the job irrespective of drug use. I can't see how this job should be prejudiced by you being on a script. However I'd imagine they'd want you to know your stuff. I can't really see why it needs a CRB check unless they want you to do research - however drugscope are quite enlightened and its up to them or their HR what they do with it. Good job we never got the vetting and barring scheme - most people in this filed would have been automatically barred without any flexibility on the part of the employer.
