Ive never been a two-faced person, so this following message is being sent after necking 60mg diazepam,so that it calms me down cos im fuckin' fumin'..Im not gonna lie, Im talking about Simon..On the Alliance home page it says that this is a "user-led organisation"..Im sick of saying nothing, Why does he come on here? It is a site for users and x-.users to share advice he is a nurse, and a non using one at that (or if he is a user,he doesnt share it on the site)..I consistently find him to be sarcastic, pedantic and generally unhelpful.. You can remove my porting priveladges if you want..Afterall, how dare I speak the truth about St Simon..It wont matter anyway,as soon as i finish this text im gonna take the other 22 blue 10mg drazepam n a months worth of seroquel..

Tomo,
You sent me a PM asking if i'd edited a post where you had left your e mail address. I'm not a moderator and cannot edit any posts other than my own. I did suggest in that thread that if the person you were seeking contacted you then afterwards it would be a good idea to edit your post and take out your e mail address. I thought that was a helpful suggestion to prevent you getting loads of spam.
You may find some of my posts unhelpful if you don't like the up to date clinical evidence - if so i'm sorry about that but I can't change that. I'm sorry you've made a threat to take an overdose and if you have done so and you read this please get urgent medical attention.
I post on here to be helpful, if you don't find my posts helpful you don't have to reply to them or even read them.

I know I have already pm'd you Simon, and recieved your reply, but as I insulted you publically, I feel it only right that I apologise publically for my behaviour last night.
I was'nt feeling myself, and whilst I might not agree with everything you say on this site (as I also sometimes don't agree with what other users sometimes say), I do realise that your intentions are only to offer help/guidance..
So, once again I'm sorry...

First of all i would like to say that i am not trying to stick the boot into anyone, i accually think that it is a good question, but i have know problems thinking that non-useres are using the site, in my head i hope that most of the guests are also people looking for help for themselves or friend or family, i would accually like to hear more input from guests. I think sometimes you need to hear things from a different angle, if you think about it MOST users will normally come from the same place maybe we as addicts need to hear it from somewhere else. I certainly wouldn't mind listening

aint it nice to see everyone making peace and not taking overdoses?
there's room for everyone..like wastedyoof i'd like to see more 'guest' input but appreciate the impracticalities.
i'm sure site moderators welcome any suggestions

Hi all,
If you remembered WY i tried to raise this point sometime ago and nothing came of it and of course it would be great if we could help a family member or friend understand addiction or Methadone a bit better, talking of friends i havnt heard from one of mine in a while, maybe they have too much goin on in their life at the moment but yeah totally agree with your point!!
Best wishes Mac

Dear all,
I am a non user and have relied on the numerous replies to my questions and worries over the past two years. I have read countless topics and it has been of great benefit to me so that I can maybe in a small way understand.
I have tried other forums but this is by far the best, being down to earth and with say it like it is honesty. With a lot of humour thrown in too. I am not looking for my higher power just yet.
If more people(non users) read the posts I am sure there would be more empathy.
When I was placed into the position of mother of an addict I was blissfully ignorant of the facts, I have read lots, visted relevant sites, talked to addicts and done things, some maybe illegal I am sure to somehow understand and help her.
I am sure there are lots of people like me who want advice, ok we may not use but we are not all bigoted.

I for one appreciate the posts anybody whether they are on methadone, heroin, or any other opiate on this site & think that one of the best aspects of The Alliance is that it it is not just used by drug users. Especially if they have an understanding of addiction ( of any kind ) or have some medical background. We should welcome those people & their opinions even if we don't agree with them. It would be pretty useless if we didn't have differences of opinions, whats the saying..." it's not the difference between people that's the problem, it's the indifferences ", or something along those lines. I've never had any problems with non-users, in fact it think it's great that non-users are prepared to get up of their arses & get involved with what the majority of the public think are a bunch of losers. I would reccomend this site to anybody who didn't use themselves but wanted to educate themselves & see that we are not a bunch of lazy no-marks, particularily if they have somebody close to them that is struggling with addiction.
I am sorry that you felt so low tomo, believe me I know how it feels. To put a post up on the site saying you were taking a load of pills & possibly overdosing on them would of worried a lot of people & not of been of any benefit to yourself as you wouldn't of got an immeadiate reply. I have on numerous occassions phoned helplines such as The Samaritans ( who will phone you back if you haven't got any credit on your phone ), or Saneline. They won't try to stop you from doing it if you are serious but are very well trained volunteers who are good at what they do & can give you another perspective on things or even just talk for as long as you want in which time the mental crisis that you or anyone is going through may subside.
Take it easy, in my experience the people that I have become acquainted with through The Alliance are a really caring bunch of people. I wish that more non-users would get involved. In this current climate of uncertainty we need to get the issues surrounding drug use out in the open & maybe change the publics perception of who we really are.
