If you can't get everything from a sterile i/v pack then you're better just having a boot. You won't get the rush, if you even get that now. But 20mins time & the gear is having exactly the same effect on your brain & taken away most if not all withdrawls. That's just what I do though, been lucky & always got my packs from the pharmacy, shared a few times & regretted it though I have come out without Hep. Thank fuck. I've always been a bit of a lone shooter, so everything I know is mine when it comes to works etc. You get all those pretty coloured works now, so even if there is a few of you it's easier not to get works mixed up. If in doubt boot it though.

Can't believe that the original poster is injecting Bupe, Never thought it was possible. I defo wouldn't be doing it tho.. But am curious.. Is it like having a bag then?

I have an appointment next week with the specialist prescriber and am not upto 85mls, but the dsp are saying "why are we giving Matthew more and more Methadone when he is still using everyday". Questions are being asked...

Most odd, i'd be saying Matthew is using everyday, lets keep increasing his Methadone and he should be able to reduce down what he is using and then manage days without using at all.

(sorry - I am upto 85mls now).

I do think that's what they are wanting, the outcome to be that my using has gone down, but of course it hasn't.

Surely the answer is that you're still using cos you're not on the right dose for you yet. Are your service known for 'low' dosing people? For them to be balking at 85ml is pathetic, a therapeutic dose is 60-120ml a day, and you're only in the middle of that even. I could sort of see their point of you were on 250ml/day and were still using everyday, but 85ml?! Come on!!

well i'd expect someone on 85ml to be have made a reduction in heroin use and injecting (If they are). I reckon you should try using less and see what happens. I don't think the way forward for most people is an injectable rx and especially young people.

Huh. I was so wary of sharing needles I once took a taxi from Barons Court to the all night pharmacy on Willesden Lane and back not to do so. Still got bloody hep...as you say, so good it's gone.

I think that if you want to change your life then that is what matters, not what kind of script you are given (within reason obviously, noone's gonna do well on 30ml a day at the start of treatment).

Studies they did on diamorph scripting show that people actually exited treatment drug free at a high percentage than meth prescribing, but I think wanting to do it plays a big part.

Yeah you got it Saph,Its all down to the person ,if you are ready to give it up then ask for treatment but if you aint ready your be only fooling yourself and using ontop of your treatment, and that aint gonna work and will only knock you back, when you are ready to give up everything from gear to some of your smack buddies then is the time to maybe think of going into treatment.Personally id be banging on the D.S.P's door, ultimately it is down to you ,you will know when the time is right, good luck and all the best Froude

That would be too much like common sense Simon. Something the DSPs seem to be very low on.
Like Froude says there is a social element also. Give up your buddies that are using off the street & you will have to fill that area of your life with other buddies, or hobbies etc. Are you ready to do that ?
