I see from Will's blog that he's contemplating going out to see this, and I watched it myself recently (thanks to the miracle of Bittorrent) so I was wondering whether anyone else had seen it, and what they made of it?

I'm not a big Danny Boyle fan myself -- his movies tend to be a bit MTV for my tastes -- but I really enjoyed this one. I thought that using his appearance on 'Who wants to be a millionaire' as a contrivance to tell the protagonist's life story was very clever, and while it hardly counts as a 'feelgood' movie (the poor get fucked over and over again), the Bollywood dance scene at the end was great, as was the soundtrack.

Anyone else?

I didnt get to see slumdogs last week, its back on my agenda for this weekend. It seems to have all the critics talking. I have always been kind nearly hit and big miss with Danny Boyle, right from his first noted outing in Shallow grave and trainspotting, especially considering he used Cralton athletics as his advisory counsel on drug use at the time of producing and directing the film.

Hi Folks,
Went to see slumdog yesterday and for my tastes it rocked! It's been a while since I've been to see a film  on th big screen and this was well worth it! as Mc Dermott mentions it is the usual story of the poor getting screwed but it gripped me. It also rung true to my experience of India, the film was so rich I felt I could almost smell the place....Good job i couldn't when Jamal was going for that autograph.....
