Service User Involvement Conference 2009
«

Hi all,
Sorry I'm so late with this. Ian mentioned there was nothing up about it before I fell sick over Xmas and then it went completely out of my head.
The second Service User Involvement Conference is on 29th January, at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham. Conference is organized by Drink and Drug News in collaboration with The Alliance.
We'll all be there, so if you're coming, feel free to buttonhole us and introduce yourselves.
More info. here:

The price needs reducing to take into account the lower level of VAT.

So the price will be £92 instead of £94, hardly enough of a saving to sway a stingey DAT. It would be good to meet you Ali, in fact it would be great to meet everyoone who posts on the forum; are you coming SImon?

I didn't want anyone to fall foul of the law. I might come Beryl but this month is really busy for some reason.

If you're coming, post here. And do be sure to introduce yourselves at the conference.

Is anyone going interested in coming along to a meeting with myself and Peter at 4pm (when the conference finishes) to look at how the recession and financial exclusion affects people in and out of treatment? Its all part of the work I'm trying to get going around credit unions and microloans etc for people affected by substance use. We're (Drugscope and London Drug Policy Forum) going to be holding a conference on 26th March to kick start this process and I wanted to get some ideas of the impact before then. There's also some free places at the conference (26th March, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, City of London) for service users.
Sorry P if this should be a seprate thread!

I will provisionally put my name forward for that Sarah, but I'll have to find out about time it takes to get back and what other people are doing travelling wise, so I will get back to you and tell you for sure as soon as I know. alli x

Just wanted to say how much I'm looking forward to the conference on Thursday - we had such a good time last year & it'll be great to reaquaint with some old faces as well as meeting lots of of new ones. The passion and spirit was quite overwhelming so....more of the same I hope!

Four of us will be coming from the Reading area, should have bought the train tickets earlier though, got them yesterday and it was £300 for the four of us!
