I was quite pleased to find I was a Bette .... had it suggested for one minute I was an Audrey, I'd have been most disappointed, though I did for a while, hold out some hope that I might have been a marilyn <g>

The programme reference comes from an episode in which the team at an early 1960's New York ad agency decide that all women basically fall into two categories - Jackie (ie Jackie Kennedy) and Marilyn (Marilyn Monroe) and use this to sell Playtex Bra's  ... The Ingrid you got was I believe Ingrid Bergman, which I would say was a fine result ... but then I think all the women you can get are pretty darned cool .... (except Audrey hepburn, but that's probably just jealousy ... or the fact that she  stole Julie Andrew's thunder in My Fair Lady )

Mad Men is a great show and they're currently rerunning Season 1 on BBC4 - I highly recommend it to all - the last few episodes of Season 2 (which will be shown in the UK sometime next year) were particularly good - covering the days around the cuban missile crisis and the break up and reconstruction of just about every relationship in the show. Oh and Jon Hamm (the star) IS the new George Clooney - only sexier, but that has absolutely nothing to do with why I like it so much .... oh well maybe just a bit  http://www.salon.com/ent/feature/2007/11/15/sexiest_man/index1.html

I'm a Bette -- but I'd rather be a Joan. Then, I could WHIP MY CHILDREN WITH A COAT-HANGER!
