So I don't know about for others, but if you need to quote the post you're responding to, the quote button is actually on the post itself. (Not that quote is working yet. Hopefully, I'll get a full upgrade done soon.)

The reply button is at the bottom of the page listing all of the posts. And you need to be out in the main menu of this sub-forum to create a new subject.

Beryl, is this still not working for you? And did Firefox not fix your smite/applaud links?

Wow, that site's got some really recent movies. I think that Apaloosa only came out in the US cinemas a week or two ago.

My kids watch the japanese anime stuff as well. I haven't seen too much of it, but there's one guy, Hayao Miyazaki, who makes some phenomenal animated films. They call him the Japanese Walt Disney.

Here's one of them -- Howl's Moving Castle -- in full, on Google.

Spirited Away won the Oscar for best animated feature in 2002, but it's better in the Japanese than with English dubbed voices, IMO.

Oh, and here's the whole movie.

Perhaps we need a film thread as well as a book thread?

Really enjoyed both of them mcdermott, particarly thr second one..... weird characters indeed yet interesting, bolilerman, 3 green heads, the twin sister witches, and it was funny gow the parents turned to pigs after gobbling up all that food, never be greedy!! thank you for those mcdermott, H.

Yeah, I think the second is the better of the two as well. Coincidentally, I've just got my hands on a live action version of Graveyard of the Fireflies that was made for Japanese Television, to mark the 60th aniversary of the end of WW2.

I'm really looking forward to watching this:
